Recently, the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Guangdong Province released the list of service-oriented manufacturing demonstration enterprises (platforms) in the Pearl River Delta in 2019. Service-oriented manufacturing is a new industrial form of the integrated development of manufacturing and service, and is an important direction for the transformation and upgrading of manufacturing industry. The "13th Five-year" Plan of the State proposes to promote the transformation of manufacturing industry from production-oriented to service-oriented, and guide manufacturing enterprises to extend service chains and promote service appreciation. Three-year Action Plan of Guangdong Province for Promoting the Construction of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (2018-2020) also puts forward to vigorously develop service-oriented manufacturing and cultivate a batch of service-oriented manufacturing demonstration enterprises and projects. This year, the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Guangdong Province organized the selection of provincial-level service-oriented manufacturing demonstration enterprises and platforms for the first time, aiming at accelerating the integration of manufacturing industry and service industry, promoting the transformation of manufacturing industry from production-oriented manufacturing to service-oriented manufacturing, improving the service-oriented manufacturing level of nine cities in the Pearl River Delta, and leading the development of service-oriented manufacturing in the whole province.
